ParSEC Wisconsin conducts independent research and analysis, and engages in pro bono consulting and advisory work, on education issues for students with disabilities in Wisconsin, emphasizing practical advocacy and legal literacy for students, their families, and others who support them. Current research topics include: postsecondary transition planning, discrimination on the basis of disability in access to programs, privacy protections and access rights for education records under FERPA and IDEA, meaningful parental participation under IDEA, educational equity, and school finance and funding.
